4 Easy Ways to Transform Your Home

Over time even the most inspirational and up-to-date home will fade and become lackluster. What used to give you joy now makes you feel as though it's old and in need of reinvention. The trouble is a complete overhaul is not exactly cheap, but that does not mean you cannot transform your home. Sometimes all it takes is a lot of will and effort, and hey presto, the inspiration is back into your living spaces. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Upgrade Features

You don't need to spend a fortune on a new kitchen and bathroom. If everything is working as it should be, then you can transform the look and feel by upgrading some of the features. The faucets are one way to do this. New faucets are a lot cheaper than forking out for a new kitchen sink, bath, and kitchen sink, as they can make a world of difference. There is so much choice out there, too, so get hunting. Other features to upgrade could be the shower head and door and drawer handles. What about the curtain and curtail rails and rods too? To get some ideas, you can look at things such as Kirsch basic hardware for things to upgrade.

Create Space

No, you cannot magic space out of thin air, but you can create the illusion of more space if you are clever. Frist decluttering is a must. Most houses have too much clutter, and yours is probably no different. Throw away, give away or sell everything that is no longer of any use to you. Try to overcome any attachment you may feel to useless things. We all do it. Try to become more minimalist, which can help you feel a lot less stressed too. Once you have decluttered, it is far easier to rearrange furniture, paint walls a lighter color, and add mirrors. All of these things can create the illusion of more space.

Gallery Wall

A gallery wall can really add a little va va voom to a living room. Pick a wall to repaint, or cover in some beautiful wallpaper, and then start putting up lots of images. You can use photos, inspiring quotes, newspaper clippings, or anything and everything that means something to you. You may even go the whole hog and have a mural painted on a wall or have a few decals added.

Plants

Adding a bit of greenery is a great way to add life to your home. This can work especially well if you live in an apartment block and have no access to outside space. Greenery can add to a room in many ways. It makes it look prettier and more alive for a start. But plants can have a huge mental effect too. They can reduce your stress levels, improve your health by purifying the air, increase your tolerance to pain, enhance the healing process, and improve your mental state, too, among other things. Plants are pretty easy to look after to. All they ask for is a bit of water every now and again.
