ZACH Theatre is bringing three great seasonal shows to Austin for everyone to share this 2018 Holiday Season. ZACH’s rockin’ holiday tradition, A Christmas Carol will return to The Topfer at ZACH for the fifth year with exciting new songs and new cast in addition to returning favorites. David Sedaris’ ever-irreverent and giddily-cynical Macy’s elf Crumpet is back with a new Crumpet, running on The Whisenhunt. ZACH Theatre’s Moody Theatre for Families Series also brings back Holiday Heroes this season due to popular demand for two shows.
Kicking off the holiday, Austin’s Jaston Williams of Greater Tuna fame will return to A Christmas Carol starring as Ebenezer Scrooge. Additional returning cast favorites include: Chanel as Ghost of Christmas Present, Kenny Williams as Ghost of Christmas Past and Roderick Sanford as Ghost of Christmas Future. Fresh from ZACH’s 2018 Season hit, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and new to the cast of A Christmas Carol, Matthew Redden and Jennifer Blakeny Young join the cast as Fred and Gwendolyn. Additional casting will be announced at a later date, so be sure to check back for the details.
After last year’s hiatus, The Santaland Diaries returns to ZACH in the Kleberg with a new look, and new elf. J. Robert Moore will star as Crumpet under the direction of Nat Miller.
Rounding out the season with another holiday favorite for the entire family is Holiday Heroes with a second show added due to demand. Written by Shaun Wainwright Branigan and Jerome Schoolar, the beloved original Holiday Heroes returns with some new songs and surprises.
